Thank you for visiting my website. I have been painting in watercolours for about eight years now and am hooked! My father, Frank Cox, was an excellent watercolourist and, after he died, I found I needed to take up painting myself as a form of tribute to his memory. Much to my surprise, I found I was able to produce attractive paintings (so people tell me!) and that I love the buzz that certain colours, texture and form can give. There has to be something in a painting that excites my senses - a ‘wow, I love that part’ feeling!

I have done a number of commissions, including landscapes and pets, and am happy to discuss commissions from good photographs. I am still learning and enjoy the challenge of different subjects. I have been lucky enough to visit a number of fascinating countries in the last few years, including South Africa, the Galápagos Islands, Australia and Nepal. The photographs taken in these wonderful places have inspired many of my more recent paintings.

During lockdown, I was honoured to take part in #portraitsnhsheroes, the amazing initiative started by portrait artist Tom Croft. To date, I have painted fourteen portraits of wonderful NHS workers.
